The Women’s Support Centre in Surrey and the Trustees of The Lightbox would like to invite you to attend this year’s Zoom opening of ‘New Beginnings’ – an award scheme that encourages women whose lives have been impacted by the Criminal Justice System to express themselves through art. This thought-provoking and moving exhibition will showcase the artistic talent of women who use the Women’s Support Centre, as well as women in Surrey prisons.

Some of the work leading up to the event has been led by Professor Charlotte Scott head of Shakespeare studies at #Goldsmiths  #UniversityofLondon and #cofounder of Shakespeare in Italy and #actressMaryChater in conjunction with #WomeninPrison.org.uk and #Womenssuportentresurrey.org.uk

Shakespeare in Italy Associate Director Bill Alexander gives us his last blog of the current series. It is short, apt and incredibly poignant considering the times we are living in. 

In the second part of his blog taking Hamlet to explore rehearsing Shakespeare, Bill Alexander, Shakepeare in Italy Associate Director, focuses on how directors and actors narrow their choices following forensic examination of the evidence in the text.
